I was born and raised in and around Chicago Illinois. As a child I was very active in dance from ages 5-16. At age seventeen I was vacationing in California and seen a female bodybuilder on the beach, I was immediately impressed by her appearance and struck up a conversation with her. She gave me alot of solid information and I soon began a weight training program. The gym in Chicago where I began training was centered around powerlifting, so a lot of my early training was power movements. I even competed in two bench press contests and won first place at both. My focus shifted toward bodybuilding when I met my husband Kevin. I competed in my first bodybuilding show in 1994. Below is my contest history:
